1. Sri Ramanuja Virtual Multiversity

The millennium birthday celebrations of Sri Ramanuja has started in the year 2017. A slew of activities is planned to commemorate this unique occasion. The current project aims to create of a Virtual Multiversity in the name of Sri Ramanuja to preserve, propagate and also revitalize the divine knowledge and the unique practices that he expounded throughout his lifetime.

There are many physical Universities and a few Multiversities as well. Many a times, the very purpose of these physical institutions are defeated / pushed to the backgrounds since they have to deal with various administrative and management issues involving land, buildings and the like. In today’s scenario, most of the Universities are facing this problem, thus giving secondary status to the field of education as also the preservation and propagation of the fields of knowledge that they were to undertake at the first instance. To overcome all these problems and to start functioning as a Multiversity from day one, it is proposed to start a Multiversity that will deal with all branches of indian Knowledge and application-oriented research with a special focus on the Visishtadvaita and Srivaishnavism.

2. Documenting the various cultural, educational and academic traditions of the Temple-town of Melkote (An ancient temple town and Cultural Centre of Karnataka – having a history of more than 1000 years) – In Print and Electronic formats.

 Melkote (also referred to as ‘Melukote – or Tiru-narayana-puram, the divine abode of Lord Narayana), is said to be the holy ‘Badrinath’ of the South. It is a cultural Centre with unmatched piety, grandeur and spiritual importance. It is a living culture that is unique and vibrant despite the passage of time. The current project proposes to document all aspects various cultural, educational and academic traditions of the Temple-town of Melkote in Physical & Digital formats, and deliver the same in the following Physical and Digital formats:

  1. Bring out a monograph covering all aspects of Melkote
  2. Create a Web-portal for the same
  3. Develop a Multi-media DVD / Downloadable App

The Project will thus document Intangible and Tangible aspects of Cultural heritage of Melkote.

3. A critical study of the Subhashita-s found in the Mahabharata and their cultural impact on the lives of Indians

Though, many subhashita-s from the Mahabharata are often quoted here and there and references are made to many of them in various forums, no concrete study has been undertaken in a systematic manner to meticulously collect, collate and analyze the subhashita-s found in the Mahabharata and also study the cultural impact that they have on human life in general and the lives of Indians in particular. The current project proposes to undertake this task by de-contextualizing the subhashita-s and presenting their utility and contemporary relevance in an attractive and currently useful manner

4. A study of the Vedic Origin of Classical Music and its role in Spiritual Evolution

The Indian music tradition has two main streams – Desi-sangita and Marga-Sangita. The current project aims to conduct a study of the internal and external aspects of the marga sangita or the Indian classical music, along with a detailed study of this Devagana tradition, based on the Sanskrit and Tamil sources, The results of the research study will be examined, if possible, using the modern scientific instruments.

5. Sriranga-Sri Project

Srirangam is said to be the Vaikuntham on earth with unmatched piety, grandeur and spiritual importance. It is a living culture that is unique and vibrant despite the passage of time. The current project is to A Comprehensive, Encyclopedic Project to preserve and propagate all aspects of Srirangam in Physical & Digital formats.

As part of the above, the following major projects are to be undertaken:

  1. Bring out an encyclopedic publication covering all aspects of Srirangam in various media including books, DVDs and web-portals
  2. Create a 3D Virtual Reality Multimedia Walkthrough that will give the viewer a thorough idea and Unique spiritual experience of the Srirangam of the 11th Century as described by the Poorvacharyas like Parashara Bhattar, inscriptions and other historical evidences
  3. Create a unique Museum that will also include:
  4. 3D Virtual Reality Multimedia Walkthrough (mentioned above)
  5. Artefacts found in and around and connected to Srirangam.
  • Replicas of the vessels, icons and other objects used in the main temple and other such items
  1. A library both physical and digital of books etc
  2. An Audio library that has all the musical kritis sung about Srirangam, Lord Ranganatha and all related aspects including all the pasurams / stotrams of all the Alwars and other Poorvacharyas (like Srirangaraja Stavam etc.)
